Conflict of Interest

The masile Jurnal Studi Ilmu Keisalaman requires all authors, peer reviewers, editors, and Editorial Board members to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may compromise the objectivity, independence, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly publication process.

Conflicts of interest may arise from financial, professional, academic, personal, institutional, or other relationships and interests that could influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, scientific judgments, manuscript evaluations, or editorial decisions.

1. Authors

All authors are required to disclose the existence or absence of any conflicts of interest at the time of manuscript submission.

Potential conflicts of interest that must be disclosed include, but are not limited to:

  • Research funding sources, grants, sponsorships, or other forms of financial support.

  • Financial or professional relationships with companies, organizations, or institutions associated with the research.

  • Ownership of shares, patents, intellectual property rights, or other financial interests related to the research.

  • Professional, academic, or collaborative relationships with individuals or organizations involved in the research.

  • Personal, financial, or other interests that may influence the research findings, interpretation, or publication.

Authors must provide a clear and accurate conflict of interest statement in their submitted manuscripts.

If no conflicts of interest exist, authors may include the following statement:

"The authors declare that they have no conflicts of interest related to the research and publication of this article."

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all relevant disclosures are complete, accurate, and updated if circumstances change during the editorial or publication process.

2. Peer Reviewers

Peer reviewers are required to decline review assignments when they have conflicts of interest that could compromise their independence, impartiality, or ability to provide an objective evaluation.

Reviewers must promptly notify the handling editor if they:

  • Have personal, professional, or academic relationships with the authors.

  • Have previously collaborated or are currently collaborating with the authors.

  • Have financial interests that may be affected by the research findings or publication.

  • Have been directly involved in the research being evaluated.

  • Have any other interests or relationships that could influence, or be perceived to influence, their assessment of the manuscript.

Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all manuscripts and related editorial communications.

They must not use unpublished information, research data, or findings obtained through the peer-review process for personal, professional, financial, or academic advantage.

If a potential conflict of interest is identified, the reviewer must inform the editor before proceeding with the evaluation. The editor will determine whether the reviewer should be replaced to safeguard the integrity of the review process.

3. Editors and Editorial Board Members

Editors and Editorial Board members must not handle, evaluate, or make editorial decisions regarding manuscripts when they have conflicts of interest involving the authors, affiliated institutions, research content, or other relevant parties.

If an editor has an actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest, the manuscript must be reassigned to another qualified editor who has no relevant conflict.

All editorial decisions must be based exclusively on the scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, relevance, validity, and scholarly contribution of the submitted research.

Personal relationships, institutional affiliations, financial considerations, professional interests, or other non-scientific factors must not improperly influence editorial assessments or publication decisions.

The journal is committed to ensuring that editorial decisions remain independent, impartial, fair, and consistent with recognized publication ethics standards.

4. Research Funding Disclosure

Authors are required to disclose all sources of financial support received for the research, including grants, institutional funding, sponsorships, and other relevant financial contributions.

Funding information must be clearly stated in the manuscript, including the names of funding organizations and grant numbers, where applicable.

If the research received no external financial support, authors must explicitly indicate this in the manuscript.

Authors may use the following statement:

"This research received no external funding."

The disclosure of research funding is intended to promote transparency and enable readers, reviewers, and editors to identify potential financial influences on the research.

5. Management of Conflicts of Interest

If an undisclosed conflict of interest is identified during the editorial process or after publication, the Editorial Board will assess the nature, significance, and potential impact of the conflict on the integrity of the research and publication process.

Depending on the circumstances and severity of the issue, appropriate editorial actions may include:

  • Requesting clarification or additional information from the parties concerned.

  • Requiring authors to submit or revise their conflict of interest disclosures.

  • Reassigning manuscripts to independent editors or reviewers.

  • Publishing corrections to conflict of interest statements in previously published articles.

  • Taking further editorial action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and applicable guidelines.

All reported concerns will be evaluated fairly, objectively, and with appropriate confidentiality.

6. Commitment to Transparency and Editorial Integrity

The Jurnal Riset Kefarmasian Indonesia is committed to maintaining transparency, objectivity, independence, fairness, and integrity throughout all stages of manuscript evaluation, peer review, editorial decision-making, and publication.

The disclosure of a conflict of interest does not automatically result in manuscript rejection or disqualification from the publication process.

Instead, such disclosures enable the Editorial Board to identify, assess, and appropriately manage potential influences that could compromise the credibility and integrity of scholarly publications.

By implementing this policy, the journal seeks to strengthen public trust in the scientific literature, promote responsible research practices, and ensure that all editorial decisions are guided by scientific merit and ethical principles.
